RANDBURG – Waterborn Swimming Club has recently enjoyed great success at the SA level 3 National Championships.

Waterborn Swimming Club recently won the SA Level 3 National Championships for the sixth consecutive year. The championships are considered the highest level of age-group competition in the country.

Based in Auckland Park, the swimming club has aimed to encourage increased participation from the swimmers and their respective families for the Waterborn method of coaching, entitled Training Works. Member consistency is critical to the club, and underlies much of its success. The majority of the team have made the Virgin Active in Malanshof their main practice venue.

Owner and head coach Peter Williams was extremely proud of the club’s success at the National Championships, and explained that the club continually endeavors to train swimmers of top quality. “The pupils’ achievements are really an indication of the top young age group swimmers coming up in this country and to a large degree a true representation of the future of South African competitive swimming,” he said

Williams continued that the club believes in opting for the honest approach – working through open communication, and passion and commitment for the sport of swimming. “We are extremely proud of the swimmers we produce at the club. They carry our name high with each attempt and success,” he said.

The team will be leaving for the Senior Nationals on 11 May.
